i looked for some info about the Sinc function but i didn't get a
clear idea how to make that convolution by MATLAB!!
so any help ?
& what is my instructor point of view to give us like this H.W ?
The last point first: You are up front with this being homework,
so I have no problems helping out. I don't know if you are aware
of it, but a lot of people here -- me included -- react against
people posting for help with homework assignments, without
making the effort to do things themselves.
Your instructor's point of view is that this exercise will expose
you to a number of useful issues:
- The sinc function, and how to find it (it is not part of matlab's
standard functions)
- Elementary programming in general, with matlab in particular
- Convolution
- Transforming signals from time domain to frequency domain
- Plot spectra
If you break the assignment down to its basic parts, doing this
will teach you how to achieve some very useful operations
with matlab.
The sinc function is, as you know, defined as sinc(x) = sin(x)/x.
How do you deal with the x == 0 case? Hint: You need to
insert some sort of test for x, and treat x == 0 as a special case.
Convolution: Type
help convolve
or
doc convolve
at the matlab prompt.
Does that get you started?

Ok thanx for giving me a good start , yah now i've learned the lesson
just knowing from where to start is very important to me !!
i'll make sure to post my solution here , so that i'll be getting the
great advantage from my H.W .
thanx again :)
