I have a Scilab 5.0.1 installed on Windows. When inspecting pallettes
in Scicos, i can right-click on a block and call up the help about the
block. If I then close the help window I cannot re-call it again until
I restart Scilab. I wonder if others have experienced the same
problem?

Thanks,

Hazem

Scicos included in Scilab 5 is a poor port of an old version of Scicos;
it does not function properly. The latest version of Scicos is included
in scilabgtk which can be downloaded from www.scicos.org or directly
from www.scilabgtk.org.
Cheers

Merci beaucoup a tout,

Will the 5.0.2 version of Scilab include the latest Scicos?

No, it will not. For the moment Scilab 5 is not suited for porting
Scicos. There are severe stability and performance issues that need to
be addressed first. On many hardware configurations, the simple opening
of the Scicos editor leads to a Scilab crash. So for now scicos team
continues to develop Scicos on Scilab 4 platform. A new Scicos release
is planned in scilabgtk for the month of October. In any case, for the
moment Scilab 5 does not provide any significant new functionality with
respect to Scilab 4, so there is no rush. It is better to wait until all
the problems in Scilab 5 are fixed.

Regards.

Just a follow-up queation:

Will ScilabGTK be mainteined independently and indefinitely? or will
it be stop with Scilab 4 build?
