Hi,

when demonstrating something in a big lecture hall,
the standard font size of Scilab's command window
is too small.

Is it possible to select a different font (size).
Can Scilab be controlled by an Xdefault entry?
(This is on Linux)

Many thanks for a hint,

in the Windows environment, one can change the font and size using the
Preferences | Choose Font menu item. under Linux, does the U.I. have
menu items for calling up help for example, or implementing copy /
paste?

The xaw3d build has xterm-like Ctrl-btn1,2,3 menues. Ctrl-btn3 allows you
to change font size. Otherwiose you might look at the resources in
SCI/X11_defaults/Xscilab. I do not remember exactly, I think I had mixed
luck in trying to change things via them.
For the gtk2 build I don't know, I think the font might be somehow
hardwired, but OTOH I've seen that different accounts open gtk2 scilab
shells with different fonts. I'd have to dig into the code to understand.

you can replace line
Xscilab*vpane.Vtsci.font: 9x15
with
Xscilab*vpane.Vtsci.font: 10x20

in file SCI/X11_defaults/Xscilab

Many thanks.

Just for the record,

it's also possible to put this into
$HOME/.Xdefaults

Helmut.
