Good morning,

I received some files which are probably an ArcInfo coverage:

E:\ArcWorld\WRLD3M\RIV3M

13.08.1992 17:53 5.875.041 AAT.DBF

13.08.1992 17:53 299.264 ABN

13.08.1992 17:53 6.144 ABX

13.08.1992 17:53 16.483.072 ARC

13.08.1992 17:53 285.184 ARX

13.08.1992 17:53 215 BND.DBF

13.08.1992 17:53 260.352 CNT

13.08.1992 17:53 87.040 CNX

13.08.1992 17:53 346.880 LAB

13.08.1992 17:53 1.189.376 PAL

13.08.1992 17:53 1.602.634 PAT.DBF

13.08.1992 17:53 87.040 PAX

13.08.1992 17:53 99.072 PBN

13.08.1992 17:53 4.352 PBX

13.08.1992 17:53 1.460 TIC.DBF

13.08.1992 17:53 24 TOL

13.08.1992 17:53 99.328 XBN

13.08.1992 17:53 4.608 XBX

As I am still working with ArcView GIS 3.3 the helpfile states:

Using ARC/INFO coverages in ArcView

In ArcView each theme in a view can represent data from one feature class.
When you add an ARC/INFO coverage to a view you can choose which feature
class in the coverage you wish to use.

When I try to add a theme to a view, only the polygon feature will be loaded
to the view. No question on any other feature source.

I highly appreciate any help.

Thank you very much in advance

Best regards

OK, The coverage is the entire directory RIV3M.

However, this isn't all, and coverages are notoriously difficult to
move using operating system copy commands. There is a missing
directory, E:\ArcWorld\WRLD3M\INFO, which would contain information
that ARC/INFO uses for looking up database files. Now, this looks like
data from PC ARC/INFO (not ArcView) version 3.x, and I am not sure of
the exact utilities. But a search on ESRI's web-site should find a
utility for converting PC ARC/INFO coverages to Workstation ARC/INFO
coverages, and hopefully this will put the data into a suitable
format.

The simplest way forward would be for you to get the suppliers of the
data to use the EXPORT command to create a single file that can then
be imported using the IMPORT71 command - you probably already have it,
but if not you can get it from the ESRI web-site. Copying the contents
of a coverage is very likely to fail, without access to a copy of the
version of ARC/INFO that was used to create the coverage.
