Adding an extension to arcmap trouble

I'm working on a class project. The instructor gave us the hydrologic
extension from ESRI. I can't get it to work

Here is the instructions I got:
Goto the tools menu click on customize and then click on the options tab
click on the add from file button and path to the esrihydrology_v2.dll in
the extension folder
click on the toolbars tab and place a check the box next to Hydrology
Modeling and close the dialog box
What I am getting is when I select the esrihydrology_v2.dll "no new objects
added"
Any ideas?
