Hi all,
Just to clarify,
I tried this in uniface 7.2.06 and put the following in the asn file

[SETTINGS]
$TIMEOUT= 15

and put in the following code in the async trigger of the startup shell.
uppercase $result, $70
if ($70="TIMEOUT")
askmess/info "I timed out"
endif

And it does not do it.
We are using Windows NT and 2000. I tried this on Win 2000.

Am I doing anything wrong.
Please let me know.

Thanks
Santosh

Hi Santosh,
I tried it and it worked perfectly.
What operating system are you running on? It isn't supported for evey
platform.
What version of Uniface are you using? I did it with 8401.
What code did you put in the Async Interrrupt trigger? I put in a debug
statement and it fired up both in TestMode and when I started from an APS.

Bob Maier

Hi all,
Has anyone tried this asn file setting? I tried to use it but didn't have
much luck. I put the setting in my application asn file, the usys.asn and
then put in code in the async interrupt. I didn't get the expected results.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Santosh

may be the <ASYNC> of the activ component has got something else and the
<ASYNC> of your .aps has not been fired ?

insert an debug statement into it and try again...

Joshi,
I tried this with 7206. I found that if I tested with an APS and $timeout
= 1, the actual elpased time until timeout was 1:10. When I used the IDF
test function it took 1:18.
So, if you're setting for 15 and the timing error is proportional, it
would take from 17.5 to 20 minutes to timeout.
I suggest you try changing your ASN setting to 1 and waiting for 2.

Hope this helps,
Bob Maier

Hi Santosh,

do you have code in the Async trigger of your component??
"Application-level Asynchronous Interrupt trigger is activated only if the component-level Asynchronous Interrupt trigger is empty."
