"Privacy commissioner Frank Work said he has ordered an investigation
into the site and criticized the department for not clearing the
program through his office.

The site shows pictures and videos, reveals personality and health
information, and gives the children's birth months and years and first
names. It includes blunt descriptions such as "prenatally exposed to
drugs and alcohol, which has affected his overall development and
ability to learn."

one child who was featured on the site first learned she was up for
adoption after hearing it from a schoolmate, an Edmonton area foster
mother says.

there have been 250,000 visits to the site in the first two days after
it started up".

That makes more than 50 visits for each of the 4700 children.

What is really going on with all that interest in a website showing
pictures and personal information about children?
