The cost of subscriptions for McAfee and NAV seem to go up and up. Are we
stuck with these jokers or are there alternatives for the person who is
willing to do a little digging? Do these guys have the market because they
are the best or because they have the best ad campaign?

Symantec and McAfee do have the better products out their IMHO. If
the cost of the standard box-product is little too much what you could
do is try out the 'not so new' ASaP anit-virus product line from
McAfee. The entire product is based on the online model (delivery -
Installation - Update/Upgrades) Due to the incremental updates
methodology that they follow the running costs are also kept to a
minimum.

Shop around - The McAfee VirusScan ASaP subscriptions are being
retailed online throughout the world, I'm quite sure you could say
subscribe at an Australian site and pay AUS $ instead of US $ or
Indian $ - whatever's cheapest you know.

Well I hope those links are useful.
