PuTTY lets you log the unencrypted packets of an SSH session. Can you
do this with PSFTP as well? <http://tartarus.org/~simon/putty-
snapshots/htmldoc/Chapter6.html> does not mention anything about this.

As with most of PuTTY's savable settings, you can use this feature
in a command-line tool despite its lack of a dedicated command-line
option by means of preparing a saved session that has the option set
and using that on the PSFTP command line in place of the host name.

That's pretty convenient - thanks!

I'm using a Session name, and have logging enabled, but nothing is getting logged. I see screen output, and I would expect to at least see that output in the log, yes?

Probably. What precise options did you set in the saved session?
What exact psftp command line are you typing?

Thanks for your reply.

Session / Logging: Printable output, Log file name (valid), "Always Overwrite it" (and "Always append to the end of it"), "Flush log file frequently" unchecked.

Command line is: psftp.exe -load "%SESSIONNAME%" -b "%SCRIPT%.SCR"

Wait, no. I'm not paying attention.

The printable output option is for interactive terminal sessions such
as you might run with PuTTY itself. With _psftp_ there's no
"printable output" (in the sense of terminal output) so nothing will
appear in your log file.

And in fact, this is in the documentation:

"
Note that the non-SSH logging options ('Printable output' and 'All
session output') only work with PuTTY proper; in programs without
terminal emulation (such as Plink), they will have no effect, even if
enabled via saved settings.

Sorry for the confusion.
