I have used various version of PGP over the years. I recently reinstalled my 9.7 software for Windows, software for which I spent about $99 on about 10 years ago, and I am unable to activate my license, as it seems that the license validation servers are no longer online. I did find some guidance from Symantec detailing how to perform an offline license validation, but none of the strings that I tried worked.
I would really like to go through my old PGD archives, extract their contents and back them up elsewhere, but am unable to at this time. Although the PGP software does work with individual files, and I do have my original keys, I am not able to mount PGD virtual drives, due to this license authentication problem.
Can anyone recommend some way that I can access my PGD files? I'm going to try telephoning Symantec support this week, but wanted to see if anyone had any other recommendations.
Thank you in advance for sharing any ideas.
