You should be able to copy the entire former folder over to W10. Before you do, rename the new Gpg4win folder on W10 to something else so you can get back if something goes wrong.

But you need to understand something. Microsoft WILL take a copy of your keys and keep them. This is what W10 is all about. Grabbing everyone's data and storing it on their disk. A court order is all there is between your keys and the government.

Actually, MS may cooperate completely with the authorities without a court order.

Well, thanks for confirming that I can just load in the old data.
I'll just move all of the current data, on the Win10 box, elsewhere
and then copy the old data from the Vista box into the
C:/Users/.../AppData/Roaming/gnupg folder on the Win10 box.

As for M$ copying my keys, is there any proof that they're doing
that, or is this another conspiracy thing? I know that I can be
paranoid, but I also try to be rational about it.

Riiight. M$ is going to look specifically for GPG keys and
steal them.

Here's the tool to see what M$ is uploading.

Really? You reference a tool released by Microsoft to verify what
Microsoft is collecting? If you had offered a 3rd party tool, I'd have
given you some credit.

But you are clearly a moron.....

And? Offering nothing is better than offering false hope in the form of
a tool, authored by Microsoft, that claims it will tell you what
Microsoft is collection.

There is none. Windows is a closed source OS. Which is fine, UNLESS you
desire to know what kind of information they are collecting on you. You
sure as hell can't trust a tool, authored by Microsoft, to tell you,
with any sort of credibility, what data Microsoft is collecting.

The only way any sort of credibility could be obtained would be some
sort of source audit by an independent, and accredited, 3rd party.

You have failed basic comp security..

And you crosspost this thread to the Windows-10 group to tell that? When
we have not seen the original question? You just post here to vent

Hi !

I suggest just to copy the files you want to decrypt and install a fresh
Gpg4win package on you new device / OS.

If GPG is anything like PGP, you can copy your keyrings -- both public
and private -- from one system to another. The format of the keyrings
is supposed to be standardized.

However, option settings might be different between versions of GPG and
also between versions of PGP and are likely not portable between GPG and
PGP.
