Good morning,

Back in 2005 I dabbled in PGP for a short spell and while doing so
generated both public and private keys. Using a different computer now
and I recently installed Enigmail. I found my old public key in a
keyserver but unable to come up with the original private key that went
with it (yes I am kicking myself for that hiccup). I still am using the
same email address which the public key is tied to. What are my options
if any that will enable me to use Enigmail given my mistake? Thanks in
advance...

In article <CpJIl.84785$TD1....@newsfe18.iad>, jwsa...@cox.net
says...

To use the old key you would need to locate both the Private Key
and the Pass Phrase that goes with that key. To use Enigmail,
I would suggest you create a new Key Pair and Pass Phrase.

See my <http://www.rossde.com/PGP/pgp_keyserv.html#noremove>. This
solution won't be completely satisfactory, but there really is no
satisfactory solution.

Don't ask "Why is there road rage?" Instead, ask
"Why NOT Road Rage?" or "Why Is There No Such
Thing as Fast Enough?"
