Our company in PA just purchased a company in Colorado. They are using a SOHO3 for internet access and vpn. Is there a way for me to remotely manage that device over the web? I was told that I have to install the vpn client and then access the firewall using the lan address. Can't I just create some rule so that I can hit the public ip address of the firewall with a web browser?
Thanks, Scott Erwin

Yes. You CAN manage it via HTTPS from the web via the soho3's public internet IP. I do this myself - I have a soho 3 at home set up that way.
If they tell you otherwise they are full of it.
