Hi,

We self publish a textbook (PageMaker on Mac)and wish to print it
ourselves rather than take it to a commercial printer as the quantity is
small - about 10 per month of 128 pages. We would also like good colour
to get an idea of the final product should we go to a commercial printer
later - something that can reproduce the Pantone colours reasonably well.

We've been considering the HP laserjet 5100dtn or perhaps something
similar. Any suggestions...

Thanks,

Paul

Elmo is right. We regularly do short run work on our DocuColour. Also lot's
of full colour business cards & brochures. There is a cut-off point at where
it makes sense to go to press, but for short run the quality can be amazing.
Pantone colours are pretty darn close, bearing in mind that it is still a
copier. Just prepare your files as you would for press. It does a good job
on a gloss stock. For business cards we use a 12pt dull coated.

Keith.

> Sure. Find a shop with a Xerox DocuColor 2000 series, 6060, or iGen3.
