"Read Only" Error Message with CD Architect on new Dell

Help! I just got a Dell 790 Optiplex. Although I've used Sound Forge
and CD Architect for many years, the CD-Rom drive in my new machine
will not allow me to burn an audio CD. I get an error message after
the test burn of "this is a read only disc.

I've talked to Dell tech support. At first Roxio and Windows Media
Player did the same thing. They had me change the drivers/firmware
and I can now burn a CD that will play in an audio component (CD
player). However I still cannot burn a CD through CD Architect or
Sound Forge that will play on an audio player.
I've talked to Sony twice. Nobody seems to know what to do. Any
ideas?
