I've recently changed the system-case of my PC, and after that my SONY
CDU33A 2xspeed CDROM Drive doesn't run properly anymore...
The following problem occures:
The cdrom drive causes the PC to crash, but not always.. It occures
mostly if I open the drive's drawer and close it again. At that point
the drive is checking the information track and that's the moment it
locks up.
But also during a game session, this error occures randomly.
None of the hardware components are changed, but I have changed the
connector cable of the cdrom drive (why the old cable is gone, is a
long story).
Now I'm using a 24pin floppy cable (none twisted) as someone told me
that this is the right cable....
I've tried everything I could think of: switching drivers, changing
cables, changing components, changing extension slots etc....
The hardware components I use:
ET4000 (tseng)
Cache Controller (HD & FD)
TRUST 16bit soundcard
I/O controller (2xCOM , 1xLPT)
The drive was delivered with a special controller board (COR33A) but I
was able to connect the drive also on the soundcard. Both
installations keep getting the same error....
After a long discussion, I managed to get a new cdrom drive from the
shop, but that wasn't the solution, the error was still there....
Please, pretty pleasy... I need all the assistance I can get....Help
me!
Greetings,
Simon.
