I would like to hear anyone's experience with the new Ricoh MP2600s
CD-RW. I am considering purchasing this drive. Megahaus and Dirt Cheap
Drives both said they have it in stock for $599.00. Consan offered me
the drive for $533. I told my sales person (John Gillyard) I saw a
message in this news group that they were selling the drive for $485 and
he said he would honor that price. He also said they may be packaging
the drive with Direct CD soon. He mentioned a time frame of next week
to next month. Maybe Deirdre can comment on the availability of Direct
CD with the Ricoh MP2600s. Thanks

I also ordered the drive from Consan. My salesperson is Tim Smith.
He expect the MP6200S to be available by April 11. This is the retail
version of the Ricoh, not the OEM since some places are saying that
they already have the drive available.

As far as Direct CD, Direct CD ver 1.0 (the one that is available now)
should work with the MP6200S as per Ricoh's tech support.

I don't know though if Consan will package the drive with Direct CD.
But I was told by my salesperson that Ricoh will include a blank
rewritable media with the MP6200S.

Yes, it will work with the version of DirectCD that ships with the
Ricoh.

It may be an optional extra; you'd better check with them and/or Ricoh.
