I recently traced the traffic on one of my Unix machines on port nr
512(exec). I saw something strange comming from a mainframe trying to
acces this port.
It is initiated from port 7000 and called afs3-fileserver. I also
discovered this on the services list on the unix machine.
I already searched the net and the news archives but nothing to help
me further.
I would like to know what this service is used for and how it can
eventually benefit my life in future(?filesharing between mainframe
and unix(AIX) on a transparent way?).
Thanks in advance and a happy Christmas from
