loopback address?

Hi,

I just want to know, if there is any specific reason for using a class A
address for loopback. (127.0.0.1). Please let me know if you have any
idea about it.

It was an arbitrary choice by the TCP/IP designers. They probably picked
it because it was the last address block in the class A range, making it
pretty distinctive.

It needed to be a class A address to allow for other forms of testing
involving subnet 255.0.0.0 Since 0.0.0.0 was assigned, that left only
127.0.0.1

What "other forms of testing"? Not saying you're wrong, just wondering what
you meant by that statement and what your reference was?
