Perhaps it's because pppd doesn't have any replacedefaultroute option.
If it's a wvdial (a frontend to pppd) option then I can't help - I don't
do frontends.

Okay, then SuSE, or whomever created the man pages, has modified pppd,
or perhaps just the pppd man pages. This result is from a pristine pppd
2.4.0 package obtained from the pub/ppp directory at the primary pppd
site linuxcare.com.au:
