what the f**k is up.
All help appreciated.

Perhaps it's because pppd doesn't have any replacedefaultroute option.
If it's a wvdial (a frontend to pppd) option then I can't help - I don't
do frontends.

errm..
"david:/etc/httpd # man pppd

Okay, then SuSE, or whomever created the man pages, has modified pppd,
or perhaps just the pppd man pages. This result is from a pristine pppd
2.4.0 package obtained from the pub/ppp directory at the primary pppd
site linuxcare.com.au:

~/shop/pppd/ppp-2.4.0$ grep defaultroute pppd/pppd.8
.B defaultroute
is privileged if the \fInodefaultroute\fR option has been specified.
.B nodefaultroute
Disable the \fIdefaultroute\fR option. The system administrator who
Protocol) tables. In most cases the \fIdefaultroute\fR and/or
Internet is through the ppp interface. The \fIdefaultroute\fR option

Sorry, I don't do SuSE either. You'll have to ask SuSE, or whomever.
