If this is a known problem, please forgive. I only have access to Lynx,
and I can't seem to get around the list archives. I originally posted
this to the Red Hat Valhalla list, but I thought I'd try here.

TIA.

Subject: Strange DNS problem.

Hi all,

I recently took over the DNS services for my domain. The transition
has gone smoothly except for one thing. Some times, the first time an A
record is requested for any one of my hosts, the IP address of the third
name-server (ns.bar.net) is returned instead. Subsequent requests return
the correct info. I don't have a sure way of reproducing it. I can do
a "rndc flush", and make my requests. Most of the time, they'll complete
OK. This has happened on several different systems running the errata
version of BIND. My best guess is that I have something obscure
slightly
wrong in my zone-file. The only thing I've obfuscated is my partner
server-names.
