The CNAME looks like:
33.32.23.24.192.in-addr.arpa.
the CIDR network is 192.24.23.32/27
If things are working correctly I would expect a
PTR record with the hostname not a CNAME.
Any pointers to an online commentary would be
appreciated. I have searched for pertinent
documents and have come up empty.
you need to inform dig that you are interested in a PTR record;
normally dig sends out a query for ANY record when the -x flag
is used.
Example:
dig ptr -x 192.24.23.32
instead of just
dig -x 192.24.23.32

Hmm, think I've seen that before - AFAIR, it works if you
do dig -x a.b.c.d ptr instead of dig -x a.b.c.d

Well, I completly locked out with this bussiness (meant
CIDR and DNS inverse resolution); although I made a
search through Internet I didn't find any valuable
information. Please, can someone address me?
