Hello,

I want to create Worklist SCP with PPS's mainly for report requests.

I have nowhere found info "how does it work".

As I understand C-FIND RSP contains set of SPS ant it can not contain
any info about state of SPS ("IN PROGRESS"/"COMPLETED"/...).

So how can I "tell" modality that item is "COMPLETED" or "IN PROGRESS"
on another modality?

Do I have to remove SPS's "having" PPS's from future C-FIND RSP?

Regs,

Hello Krzysiek,

maybe you could be a bit more specific - did you read the Definition of
the Performed Procedure Step Service in Part 4 (PS3.4-2008, Annex F)?

The more specific your question is, the higher the probability someone
can help you here.

Kind regards,

Peter

Thank you for response.

I've tried to read and understand Part4, Annex F ;)

I do not understand how PPS sent from can affect results of next MWL/
GPWL C-FIND RSP.

When one modality begen processing one of WorkList items (SPS) and
another makes WL C-FIND i should "tell" it "SPS xxx is IN PROGRESS/
COMPLETED".
How can I do that?

Hello Krzysiek,

I think you have the same trouble I had understanding the normalized
services...

The PPS is created using an N-CREATE Command, and the state is reported
by N-SET. So if you have a state change, you N-SET it appropriately.

Perhaps you might be interested in the N-CREATE and N-SET Commands, the
DIMSE Normalized Services are detailed in Part 7 (PS3.7-2008 chpt. 7).

My "pragmatic" approach would be to set up a MPPS SCP / SCU test
software (e. g,. the Modality emulator and the RIS emulator of the DVTK
toolkit suite) and use a capturer such as wireshark to monitor the
network traffic (if your local security policy allows the installation,
of course - else a Virtual environment might help). I learned most from
this - it turns words into bytes most quickly ;o)

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,

Peter

If you are in a situation where you can experiment with a SOP that is
under development, you should examine Sup 96, Unified Worklist and
Procedure Step. The early experiments with this have gone very well
and it might be better suited for your purposes. It is being tested
in conjunction with Sup 74 Utilization of Worklist in Radiotherapy
Treatment Delivery.

The danger and advantage of frozen draft supplements is that they will
change before being integrated into the standard. This makes them
unsuitable for some purposes, unavailable in some toolkits and
products, and ensures that at least minor software changes will be
needed when the final text is issued. Sometimes the changes are very
substantial. There is the advantage that your feedback on
implementation results can influence the standard.
