I downloaded multiproxy and was trying to play around with it to see how
well it worked but when it was running no matter what I entered as a URL (or
IP address) I was always taken to the site for PumaSoft. Is this some sort
of jokeware?

I use it and have no problem. Did you download the proxy list? Did you set
porxy of your browser 127.0.0.1 port 8088?
BTW you got the software from the Multiproxy site, no?
If you give more info, I try to help.

If you give more info regarding Your set-up, I will try to help you but as I
said earlier, I have been using MultiProxy for a long time and I am very
happy with it and not had any problems. BTW there is also a FAQ page on the
site, have you checked it to see if they have anything of interest to you?

I checked the site and couldn't find anything.

I've used MultiProxy before and didn't have any trouble. I set it up the
same way this time and I keep getting nothing but the PumaSoft page. Just a
standard Netscape 6.2 browser with the proxies set as they should be...
certainly nothing unusual about the config.
