Why does this site consistently give me my IP, even when using proxies I
know are anonymous?

http://www.stilllistener.addr.com/checkpoint1/Java/

Is it something to do with Java? If so how do I disable it?

Regards....

Steve

Hey, remember back on Sun, 13 Jan 2002 14:11:45 +0000 (UTC), when "Steve"

You're using OE (which is silly--get Free Agent at www.forteinc.com), so I
assume you use IE.

Start up IE, go alt-t (tools menu), press O (Internet Options), choose the
Security tab, click the "Internet" icon, click the Custom Level... button. Now,
out of all those choises, use the Disable button (or whatever choise is closest
in meaning) for everything except "Drag and drop or copy and paste files" and
"Submit nonencrypted form data"; in User Authentication choose "prompt for user
name and password". This will give you as much security as IE can.

If you have sites you choose to go to, which stop working after this, you can
put their URLs into Trusted Sites, and relax the security settings. Still, I'd
recommend never allowing Javashit nor (In)activeSex.
