Hello; I believe I previously replied to a post of yours with respect to

The board, in my recollection, does *not* have a BIOS. It merely is the
53c875 chip, a few connectors, and nothing else. It's an oddball as far
as 53c875-based controllers go.

Which is the BIOS which was on your motherboard. The old 3.x BIOS'
definitely do not support the UW-SCSI 53c875, nor do they support ASPI
(you need to upgrade to a 4.X bios in order to use ASPI instead of the
old CAM interface..).

More correctly, the system can't properly deal with the board.

If you can upgrade the BIOS on your motherboard (or upgrade the
motherboard) to one which contains a 4.x Symbios SDMS BIOS (if you're
good at hacking machine-code and BIOS files, you may be able to do this
yourself with your old 486 flash BIOS), then you likely will be able to
get it working. Otherwise, you'll need a new motherboard or SCSI board,
or both.

Compaq's not exactly known for having very good tech support or online
information, and their castration of the 53c875 board that they sell is
nothing less than pathetic.
