The only way this ad would make sense would be if Mr. Spidal had
spent the last three years or so secreted away from all contact with
the outside world. Since I assume he's not on drugs.

That asking price he just posted is about $0.45/Mbyte. Which is
about double what a NEW, RETAIL, SCSI-2/WIDE 3.5" drive goes for.
Which not only has one heck of a lot faster seek time than any FH
SCSI-1 drive which ever left the factory, but a throughput which
would simply swamp a SCSI-1 bus !!

As for the .. ahh .. merchandise he is selling, the only use I can
conceive for such would be to replace a similar unit in a box whose
original system disk had gone to the Great Disk Array In The Sky, and
whose controller could not handle a modern disk's rotational velocity
and/or throughput.

And he's asking waaaay above what _that_ sort of unit was going for a
bloody _YEAR_ _AGO_. By a factor of about 4.5. Sheesh ....

Actually, if you've examined the ads in this group at all closely
over the month or so, you'll have noticed that a price like this is
not too atypical for a _1_ _Gbyte_ _5400_to_7200_ _rpm_ _3.5"_
_disk_!!! High-end SCSI disks have even gone for less recently, on a
cost/Mbyte basis ...

Get real, Glen .....
