I have an IBM Travelstar DHAS-2540 hard drive from an Apple Mac
PowerBook 540C that has a 40 pin SCSI connector on the back. (Please
note - all those people who are about to post to say that 40 pin is
IDE not SCSI, please don't, this IS 40 pin SCSI. The technical
specification of the drive can be found at
http://www.storage.ibm.com/hdd/support/dhas/dhas_ps.pdf )
I desperately need to connect this to any other type of SCSI
(preferably 50 pin SCSI internal), however I have not been able to
find anyone who is able to supply either an adapter, or a converter,
for this type of connecter.
Although I have a pin-out for the drive (as listed in the tech spec)
I'm not really sure how to go about building a converter/adapter, so
would really like to avoid the route.
Does anyone know of someone who sells this type of converter, or would
be able to build me one?
Many thanks

As far as i remember, i built my own - there were a few adapters
spec'ed at that time, but i never could actually buy one <g>
However, for it's only "standard" SCSI signaling up to 5 MB/s
synchronous, simply make a cable adapter with a 40 and a 50 pin ribbon
cable connector.
Alternatively, most of the adapter vendors offer customized layouts...
Don't bother with the AMP number - it is old, and they changed the
scheme ....
