I currently have this error showing "52 service" in the window only
after I start to print or go to test print. You can hear a very fast
whining noise which I presume is the laser motor spinning, but when it
gets to a very high speed the sound of the motor is constantly revving
up and down. It then states the error. I have taken apart the printer
right down to the laser and optical fibre but I need some advice on
where to go from there, Preferably with some diagrams/Repair book. I am
on such a budget that I cant afford silly money for a repair manual then
to find that I need parts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Bryan.

Replace the scanner motor would be my first suggestion, I am not sure but I
think it's the same engine as is in the HP LaserJet llP (the HP uses the
cannon engine). If you go to the HP parts site and look up the scanner motor
for the LJllP. If you are in the states you should be able to buy the part
directly from HP. Another source should be www.fixyourownprinter.com Moe
runs a very good site and would advise on the best parts kit for the job. He
also does a video on some of the repairs procedures so enquire there.
