VERY slow spooling to printer

I tried to print a 12 page document from Acrobat reader and it took over
an hour and still was on spooling page 8. I finally aborted the print
job and I printed the same document to my Old Epson Stylus color and it
spooled immediately -- the printing is slower on the Epson, but at least
it printed it in 10 minutes. What's with HP taking so long to spool.
Any help or answers would be appreciated. I have a 970 Cse with the
latest driver downloaded from the HP site.
I am on a P. Port.

files. Also, if you have reverse print order (last page first) turned on, it
has to spool the entire thing before printing.
