Epson PhotoEx - all error lights on.

all of the error lights are flashing ...ie... the paper empty light +
both colour buttons + the power on button light. (total 5 lights)

running on winxp home edition

both ink carts are actually ok... (and the paper - rather obvious)

this printer has been brilliant for the past 7 years...

is there a way out of this situ...

maybe (pressing the paper feed and/or "ink out" buttons on powering up)
in some combination ... or taking a battery out of the printer etc...

help...

This is a protection counter error. You need to reset the protection counter.
Download the utility from http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml, hopefully your
model is supported.
Next time you get this error (assuming the printer stills works in another 7
years!!!!) you should replace the waste ink pads.

thanks Tony... top man ... printer running seemingly ok again.

epsons master 5-7 year plan to screw the buyer defeated

I also take your point re- the waste ink pads.
