D-Link DP-301P+ Print Server Install Issues

I bought a used DP-301P+ print server off of eBay and I'm having
trouble talking to it at all. (It's a little box with a parallel port
on one end - connects directly to the printer - and an RJ-45 on the
other end and gets directly connected to the router.)

I get NO indication it's even on my network. Documentation identifies
default IP address - I can't ping it or talk to it. I have Network
Magic on my network and it can't it when NM does a discover.

It's acting like it's dead (given the above) but I thought I'd check
to see if someone out there with experience with these devices has any
clues. I was wondering if it might be configured for a different IP
- but since NM can't find it anywhere I assume that isn't the problem.

Any ideas?

Did you get an installation disk with the server? According to the manual
for this server, you should use PS Admin software to install the server and
depending on the OS, it should create a port. Go here to dl the PS Admin
software and other items for your server: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Printserver/
The PS Admin pdf has some very good information on setting up your server.
Does the server even go through it's self-check operations? What OS are you
using?
