Canon MPC600F - Faxes are grey

Hi,

I have got Multifunctional SmartBase MPC600F Fax/Printer. I use
Win98SE.

When I scan the documents, it scans O.K. and the text or image is seen
but when I open the received faxes, then the screen is grey with the
following Tool bars:-

Heading is Fax00001 - Multipass Viewer

Then underneath are buttons - File, View, Zoom, Tools, Help.

Then underneath only two tabs ot buttons show up and they are Properties
and Options.

The rest of the fax is grey coloured with no text or images.

Now, there is nothing in the File Associations box which you open going
to Tools > File Associations.

I feel there should be some thing in the box as underneath are the
buttons, Select all and Remove all.

So, how do you get this File Associations box functional?

Thanks for your help and I am novice. I have reloaded the Driver many
times but the same problem. Even I was getting the warning that my
Printer is not connected and I should reconnect even though it was
connected and working before. Some thing make it change its mind and it
could be a Virus. I have cleansed the computer with antivirus.
