Anyone have experience with a Canon ImageClass C2100 color laser printer?

I'm looking at purchasing a Canon ImageCLASS C2100 color laser printer to do
12,000 11x17 prints per month. I formerly didn't give much thought to the
Canon color laser printers, but it seems they offer a nice low price ($2400
for an 11x17 color laser 6PPM color and 24 ppm black and white) good image
quality, and they seem to have a lower cost of operation (or so I'm told
without any specific numbers) than either HP or Xerox.

Does anyone know of any good sites with reviews of 11x17 color laser
printers/color copiers, and specifically any which compare cost per print?

Or does anyone have side-by-side experience with the Canon ImageCLASS C2100
and either an HP or Xerox printer - is the Canon ImageCLASS C2100 a good
choice?

Canon makes HP's 8500. They just came out with a new single pass letter
sized
color printer that does 17ppm color or bw. I suspect a 17ppm tabloid
sized printer isn't far behind. Unless you know someone inside, there's
no way to find out an actual release date.

Thank you very much for the information - I had no idea that the HP 8500 was
made by Canon. Very interesting!

As far as canon's new printers, speed really isn't much of an issue for me -
the printer will be for a local newspaper and I don't mind letting it run
for 2-3 days to output the 12,000 11x17 prints. My main concerns are
quality, consistency of black, sharpness and color quality, and ongoing cost
of printing since the per issue printing budget is very tight and at some
point I would like to be able to afford to print more color pages (currently
it's mostly black and white with 2 color pages)

actually it would be called the imageRUNNER C2050 and C2058
it is a Copier but the reader is sold seperatly
The printer only model I believe is call imageRUNNER C2020
