Freezing when attempting to print

When I attempt to print to my Epson 480 color inkjet printer, the program
that I'm printing out of freezes. It doesn't matter what program I print
from. I tried turning computer off and on and no luck. It even freezes when
I try and print a test page from the printer software. I tried reinstalling
printer software and that didn't help. Totally at a loss. Everything else on
computer works.
Any gurus out there?
