Using Xerox toner with Tektronix (Xerox) Phaser printer?

Does anyone have experience with using Xerox DocuColor toners with Tektronix
Phaser 780?

You need to use the Tek 780 toners. If there are Xerox toners that Xerox says
will work, then that is ok. I would check officeprinting.xerox.com and search
on your printer to check. Why, what is your question?

DocuColor and Phasers are two different product lines, well before Xerox bought
the printing division of Tektronix.

I asked that question because I'm using Xerox toner (I
just put original Phaser plastic protrudes on Xerox cartridge) and problems
occured. Some colors are incorrect. For exemple, red color looks more like
orange. It doesn't affect all colors, just colors which are mixed with
magenta and/or yellow. In the same time I started using Xerox toners, I had
to transport the printer for a service, so it's possible that some part
could be demaged during the transport.
The Tektronix (Xerox) distributor said that there "shouldn't" be problems
using Xerox toners.
I'm just trying finding out what could be the cause of this
colorprinting-problem.

datacontroller the toner,drum,oil and waste cardridge are the same The
phaser 790 toner CAN'T be used in a 780 these are different. Your red looks
orange problem is most likely a machine problem there is a problem with the
toner transfer to the paper and a part of the mechanic that drive the second
transfer rol cam assambly needs to be replaced

I think that you have the 780 and 790 confused.
The 790 and docuolor 4 are the same engine and are simular.
The 780 and 790 are not simular.
I think that if you can physically swap toners you should not do that.
I think that your Xerox distributor is wrong in that fact.
I would call the people who support the 790 to confer that. theya re at
800-865-6100..
Ask for Escalated Hardware Support.
