"full bleed" printing

Anyone know what "full bleed" printing is?? Am looking at getting a new
Epson 1280 or used 2000.
Does "full bleed" make any difference on photos, or is this something
related to publications??

Just means no margins. handy, but not essential.

Please note however that anything placed in the 'bleed' area, may be
cropped.
