HP940C cartridge refill and reset ?

I refilled the color and black cartridges. Tried the trick of putting
tape
on the top left then top right pins and then removing it altogether
per earlier
posts. Color reset and shows full just fine but black still shows low
ink although it prints just fine. The 940C takes a #15 cartridge
rather than a #45.
Have tried different combinations of tape on pins. No go. Any ideas
anyone?
