we are changing from a NT 4 Print Sever to a 2000 print server, we
have over 50 network printers and over 500 client machines that will
need to be visited to change the printer names to the new server. Does
any one know af an application that will run on the users desktops
that will search for a specific printer and then change the name of
it?

Example:
IF
\\my-print-server\printer1
then
\\my-new-printerver\printer1

Yes. Depending on the LAN OS you are using. If you were using LPT1 or
lpt2, you could try to use the net use command to accomplish that. You
could also use SMS to create a new default printer for your users and have
a force update.
