I just purchased a new HP 812 C desk Jet printer and would like to know your
experience on refilling these cartriges. I have read that HP cart are known to
be difficult to refill. This printer uses the #15 black and #23 color (C1823).
Any problems or difficulties?

Thanks,
Witam

I have a HP 712C which uses the same cartridges and have had no problems
refilling them. I have refilled the black cartridge about 5 times and the
color only 1 time.
I have bought from http://www.priceless-inkjet.com/ and, more recently,
www.refills.com and have been satisfied with their service and products.

This information was posted in a thread below by d park regarding refilling
HP inkjet cartridges:

"I have always had problems with the cartridges drying out before I could
re-fill them, and clearing requires soaking them 10 to 30 hours in
amonia in water, then pat, pat, pat lightly on the ink jets until the
ink starts to finally open up. This will work, however, it is far
better to remove an empty cartridge a soon as possible and set it in a
flat pan or ashtray with a folded paper towel and 1/2" of water in it.
Using any of the popular ink refills, you can fill each section until it
nearly overflows, then withdraw a small amount and I put a short piece
of plastic over the three holes. This will prevent possible spilling.
Keep it on the wet towel during refilling and this will prevent the jets
from drying out. In the printers, the cartridge is parked on a pad that
keeps the ink from air drying. The ink will dry rapidly if it is left in
the outside air in just a couple minutes, plugging the jets. Keep this
from happening. I trashed a lot of cartridges in the past not knowing
this, now I can re-charge them many times. If they do plug up between
re-filling, the tap, tap, tap method is the best and fastest way to
clear them. I hope this helps."

I got my kit for refilling my HP cartridges from CompuBiz
http://inkjetsaver.com/ . One thing I like about their kits is the stage
holder for cartridges. I keep one full and in the holder until I need it and
place the empty one in the holder until I get a chance to refill it. this
works great and they also have about the best price I have found. The Black
refilled cartridges last as long as new and the color is the same as the
original color. Very satisfied.

Hi,

These particular HP cartridges are not difficult to refill and the colors are an
excellent match. Earlier HP cartridges were difficult.

If you would like to see the directions for the cartridges, contact me here:

We also have refurbished cartridges at a considerable savings from new HP.

Cheers & Happy Printing,

Thanks for the tip. This looks better and cheaper than the places I
mentioned.
