When I ran out of ink I installed my first Carronink cartridge. First I
noticed that it did not fit very good. I tested it and it gave many gaps in
the test page patten. I cleaned it three times and it got no better.
Then I tried the next cartridge, it did the same. Lousy results.
Of course by now I had also used up my OEM color cartridge. Not being
completely studid, I ran down to Costco's and bought an OEM black plus color
cartridge for 30 plus dollars. Everything now works great.
So next I contacted Carrotink. They were 'very' sorry that it did not work
but I could not get my money back because it was past their 60 day limit. Of
course they would send me a replacement, but I am not stupid enough to use
up my new color cartridge trying to get their badly fitting cartridge to
work.
Buy their cartridges at your own risk!!!
I know the "Carrot Bunch" for quite a long time. They run a good,
quality oriented operation. They do not deal in inferior products. Many
vendors (including myself) had problems with the C80 ink tanks when they
were first being manufactured. All you can do is stand behind your
guarantees and I'm sure Carrot did that.
Dusty, if you were a "planning ahead kind of guy" then you would have
read Carrot's warranty policy and bought ink tanks accordingly that
would not have lasted beyond the warranty. Sounds like you got a little
greedy to take advantage of the sale and bought too many.
I'd say Carrot is being generous in offering you replacements even after
the warranty period. You should take them as I think you will find the
C80 tanks have been revised and are fully reliable now.
I don't mean to criticize you personally. I am sensitive to the idea of
publicly "badmouthing" someone based on one experience. All businesses
make a mistake or have a product failure now and then. It seems to me
they were willing to offer a solution even though their warranty period
was expired. What more can you ask of them?
Cheers & Happy Printing,
Al

If the cartridges are stored in any position other than upright
you can have start-up problems as air from the dead space
in the cartridges can migrate to the exit ports in storage.
