I'm looking for a low priced inkjet printer for a relative.
USB is not required and it should have separate black and
color cartridges, and the ability to be operated with the
black cartridge only, if so desired. The Canon BJC 2100
looks OK but their web page is a little sketchy on cartridge
details, plus I'm a newbie to inkjets. Can anyone confirm
that the cartridge setup is what I want, or recommend any
other printer in the same print range with the desired
features? Use will be mostly text, on a windows 95 machine.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Johhno,

You are having much better luck than I am having with my BJC-2100. It is
USB, and will not even print out a test page completely, without giving
me an error message. Really discouraged with this one.

Nick,

Sorry can't help you.

The Canon 2100, is probably the only periphereal I have purchased, that
worked perfectly 1st time, and continues to perform flawlessly.

Now.... if you needed help with a Lexmark 1100, I would happily send you a
ream of Help Page printout...

Hope somebody can reply to your problem
