What are the latest recommendations for a good source of
remanufactured cartridges? The ones on ebay scare me as any TD and H
can claim to have the best.

I have an HP 970cxi so I am looking for 45's and 78A's. Thx,

Lar

You'll have equal results and less cost if you refill them yourself.
there are some good kits here:

I agree with Dan. I've been using http://www.inksupply.com/
for my two 970's.

I am really busy so..... Is it really fast and easy to do??

Also, how long can a cartridge have been lying around before it
becomes a problem target??

Thanks, Larry

It really shouldn't take more than a few minutes. Definitly not more than 5
minutes per color.

Heres some video instructions, just click on your cartridge,

Some links with great prices http://www.atlanticinkjet.com/ (US/Cdn) &
http://www.inkmagic.com/ (Cdn)

Not sure what you mean, but you can refill a cartridge up to 10 times, but
if the quality is not up to par, change the cartridge. Then refill that one
until the quality decreases, and so on, and so on.

Note: There is a patent on cartridges with the print heads built in,
therefore the arent any being sold in many cases. But if there are it is
most likely that they are HP cartridges that are refilled.

Taken from Inkmagic:
"The original manufacturers have patents on these printheads. Any
compatible cartridges manufactured for this type of cartridge would violate
the patents. Even if a compatible cartridge, with printhead, could be
produced without violating any patents, the original manufacturer would most
likely claim that there was an infringement and drag the smaller producer
through years of court cases. In many cases the huge legal cost would put
the smaller company out of business before the product ever reached the
market."

These cartridges are very easy to refill. If you don't want to refill them,
go to inky_Pete on ebay. You can buy a 45A for $9.00 & a 78A for $17.95. No
reported failures in the last 2500 cartridges sold.

Zero reported failures in last 2500 is amazing. I bet HPs track record
isn't that good. There always that one guy who's half awake when he
tries to install the cartridge and ends up bending the contact pins.

According to your ebay list, your 78's are D's not A's. Who would want
those????

We put in 12ml of each color for a total of 36 ml. Since we don't fill them
to 39 ml like the OEM we chose not to list them as a 78A. Can you tell me
who sells 36 ml for $17.95??? By the way, a 78a cartridge with 39 ml should
weigh 140 grams.

OK Pete, I am new at this and I don't understand.

1. I'll bite... Why don't you fill them with 13ml each?

2. Why don't you say that in your item description so the reader knows
that they are getting much more that a 19ml fill?

3. What does the 140 Gram reference mean?

In article <%_eW9.745$th6...@tornadotest1.news.pas.earthlink.net>,

One datapoint for you:

I tried remanufactured 78's from IowaInk and they, uh, sucked.
(they were good about returning them, though)

@tornadotest1.news.pas.earthlink.net:

I've just tried refilling the 23 (color) and 45 (black)
for my old HP 722C, with very poor results.

The colors in the InnoJet color refill kit were not true.
Red printed almost as brown. Gave up and bought a new HP cart.

I refilled my black cartrige (just as it was running out,
so ink should not have dried out) with ink from a Print-Rite
kit that said it was specifically for the HP 45.
Poor printing - smearing, banding.

Tried a Pelikan remanufactured HP 45 cartridge from WalMart.
Only slightly better than the refilled cartridge.
I'll probably end up getting a new HP cart.

So my luck with refilling and remanufactured carts for HP
has not been good.
