Does anyone have any experience with refilling HP Photosmart 1000 (or other
HP) inkjet cartridges?

1. Any potential problems in doing so, either in quality of output or in
subsequent clogging of the inkhead, damage to the printer, etc.?

2. Any recommendations as to quality suppliers?

3. And in this connection, is the print quality decreased at all using
bulk refill ink?

I have the HP 970 series printer which uses the same cartridges as the
Photosmart. I tried the ink from a company called Netwares and was not
satisfied with the color saturation or the general tones of the
colors. The black was fine and I am still using it.

Yesterday I received a kit for the color from "reinkkit.com" I was
told from other sources in this forum that it was dead on for HP inks.
I just partially filled a cartridge and tried it in comparison to the
HP and the Netwares ink. It was an "unscientific test" as I had three
pictures I printed, one from some time ago with HP ink, one with the
Netwares ink and one tonight with the reinkkit ink. these were all
printed on bond paper for comparison.

The reinkkit ink is so close to the HP inks that you could not tell the
difference in the two. As I had mentioned, the Netwares ink did not
satisify my needs.

I am going to try several other types of photo quality paper in the
next few days and see how it is with these papers, but I expect it will
match up correctly and the only issue will be the "colorfast" quality
of the ink.

I would not hesitate at this time to recommend this ink, based on the
limited tests that I have currently done.

Thank you for the information. Please let me know if your opinion changes
based on the other paper types. I am currently using Kodak Bright White for
normal and HP's glossy photo.
