Hi,

Can anyone recommend the best way to clean the rubber rollers on an
Epson printer that feed the paper? I have heard of using things like
brake fluid or ammonia. Anyone tried these? Thanks for any other
suggestions,

Isopropyl Alcohol has always worked well.

I had a paper feed problem on my HP OfficeJet 350...when I contacted HP, they
sent a free roller cleaning kit. Maybe Epson has one...?

To clean the rubber rollers, I have always used double-stick scotch
tape. It's cheap, and it works.

Place the tape on a piece of paper in-line with the rollers. Place the
paper in the infeed pocket. Print a blank sheet from your favorite word
processing program. Do this once (maybe twice) for a good clean.

Someone recently wrote that he found that the best way to restore the
grip to rubber rollers was to cover them with Armor-All (yes Armor-All!)
for about 5 minutes then wipe off the excess.

Any of the alcohols will clean the rubber but will also dry them out to
the point where they will no longer grip the paper properly.

There is a product called Rubber Restore that may be picked up at some
of the major computer stores that works great. If you can't find it
there. Go to a local repair shop and see if they will sell ya a can.

And plain old-fashioned brake fluid works best of all. It's
actually a rubber rejuvinator.
