I purchased an i850 last December.

After a short period, I was warned that the yellow cartridge needed to be
replaced.

I did this, but now, a scant 4 weeks later, it is telling me the yellow
needs to be replaced again. (I really don't use it that much)

The other cartridges seem to be "full" or "near full"

Does this indicate a problem ?

Jim,

My guess is that the ink monitor did not reset to full when you replaced
the yellow. Try removing it and reinstalling and check to see if the ink
monitor was reset for the yellow.

Cheers & Happy Printing,
Al

Is the cartridge empty? You can tell visually.

If it's empty it's empty :) Unless it's running down into the printer,
which would be easy to see as well, then you must be using it up somewhere
:)
