color fast finish

I know that using certain printers, combined with specific paper a
reasonable degree of colour fastness is attainable. However none of the
requirements suit my purpose.
has anyone got experience coating the finished print with a clear spray
finish?
Is this likely to help, and if so, to what degree?
Your advice appreciated,

What are your requirements? There are some printers with long print life.

www.wilhem-research.com is an institute that does testing on paper+ink for
lightfastness
how long do you intend to keep the prints?

Hi,

Bulldog Products (do a search for them on the web) used to offer a spray
to preserve inkjet prints without yellowing or otherwise harming the
print. Don't know if they have it in Aussie land.

I want to print out my digital oil painting on canvas or canvas look paper,
(I have used both) and frame it without using glass, so as to keep the oil
painting look.
I have been doing this for myself only (non commercial) and find that I need
to reprint the art about once a year.
My printer is an Epson 740, I would conceder a more expensive printer if it
would print on non gloss paper, (canvas type) with the guarantee of a
reasonable non fade life.
Any thoughts,

The Epson C-80 has long life inks and is water proof. But the 740
does do better Glossy Photo prints.
