It's come to my attention that there are now printers being made that
use solid ink "sticks." http://www.rbsmontana.com/extra1.shtml

These are touted as "green" printers. Has anyone had experience with
these printers? Do they have any promise of equaling the quality of
inkjet printers? Is this the future of printers? Any comments, ideas,
etc.?

They have been around for some time as you found. I have thought about
something like that for myself. Then I weigh the costs and the fact
that they have problems too. Many people love their laser printers. I
see many problem posts with them as well. Ink is so cheap and used
printers are free or cheap. It's just too easy to stay with the ink
jet for my purposes. I use them enough to keep the ink flowing. They
refill with cheap ink and seldom cause any problems. I'm perfectly
willing to go in another direction, but solid or laser doesn't seem to
be the way for now.
