Hi guys

I have an HP2100TN and the manual says that the heaviest paper it can
handle is 168gsm from Tray 1. Before I read this, i sent 10 200gsm A4
cards through it and all went well no problems.

So, i guess my question is will this damage the printer in the long
run? it obviously didnt cause any immediate problems (no jams etc),
but i dont know, maybe there is another reason they didnt recommend
it.

can anyone shed more light?
many thx

I agree that the specifications are conservative. However papers of the
same weight can vary considerably in both thickness and flexibility so I
guess the manufacturers are understandably playing save!

I have an HP laser at work that I managed to get some very heavy card stock
thru
and print a 500 page job.
now the sheetfeeder on plain 20 Lb paper takes 3-4 at a time..
so for it's life, I'll be feeding individual sheets.
yea.
