I took it back and got an HP 932C and it's also got banding problems. On
this one it's not so noticeable in dark regions but it's there in uniformed
colour regions as fine lines of lighter colour. It's also there in best
quality mode on plain paper, although the lines are finer and more closely
spaced so you have to look closer to see them. From a fair distance it's not
noticeable but it bothers me that a midrange printer would have this
problem.
Is this typical for these printers or have I just gotten unlucky twice?
Thanks,
Ric
The only problem like this I've seen on my printer is in draft text, there
is a slightly disjointed line of text a few lines down from the top which
appears to be caused by the speed of the paper combined with the pause in
motion at this point, there is no problem at all in normal mode as the paper
is moving slower. Have you checked to see if your problem always occurs at
the same place on the page, if so this would indicate a paper feed problem
rather than a cartridge/ink problem.
